Why All the Fatalities at Yosemite This Year?

Fourteen people have died so far this year at Yosemite National Park. That's more than twice the usual number at this point of the summer. Yosemite typically sees five or six deaths by the end of July and 12 to 15 by the year’s end. Why the increase?
